Extra-curricular

Holland Park High students are able to participate in a wide range of activities - sporting, cultural and academic. Read about the extra-curricular activities we offer below.
 



Art @ the Park
This bi-annual event showcases the diverse range of student artworks from across all grades along with wearable art parades, live music and street theatre.

Book Buddies
This ten week program sees a number of Year 11 students visit our partner school Marshall Rd State School each Wednesday morning to spend 40 minutes reading and sharing stories.

Drama Club
As well as honing our dramatic skills through improvisation and scripted drama, Holland Park State High School’s Drama Club also participates in the annual Youth Theatre Sports Competition.

Exchange Tour - Tennoji (Japan)
Students studying Japanese in Grades 10, 11, & 12 are invited to attend this exchange tour which occurs every few years (depending on interest). This study tour gives students a first-hand look into the unique culture of Japan.

​Gardening Club
This lunchtime club is open to all students. Students plant flowers and tend to the garden in the 'living lab'.

Gymnastics Support Program
Holland Park SHS has a long history of supporting elite Gymnasts and Divers. Students are assisted with balancing the demands of their schooling, training schedules and competition programs. Practical support is provided with flexible timetables, negotiated study programs and assessment scheduling.

Homework Club
This after school program is designed to allow core subject teachers to further assist students with assessment.

Interschool Sports
Interschool sport is available to all students at Holland Park State High School. There are a multitude of sports that students can participate in.

​Kokoda Trek
The Kokoda Challenge is a gruelling, cross-country team endurance event that involves teams of four students and a teacher hiking together on a course designed to replicate the ONG Kokoda Track. Two students in 2016 were inspired to accept the Kokoda challenge. Well done to Remy & Shaye.

Musical Groups
Holland Park State High has a large number of ensemble groups. Having such a wide variety of ensembles provides students with the opportunity to perform a number of different music styles and develop music independence.

National Tree Day
Each July, Holland Park State High Students head down to the 'bottom of the hill' to plant seedlings which the students then help care for. Together with a local environment group we are helping to regenerate our local environment.

Parent Club
In 2016, Holland Park State High offered parents of the school and the wider community to attend 3 'Triple P' parenting session for teenagers'.

School Musical
Holland Park State High creates and performs a musical every second year, organise and run by students and staff.

Talent Quest
This event allows students to tap into their inner creative abilities. Each year, Talent Quest sees a diverse range of performances from the student body

Touch Football
Touch football is a fun, active way to become more involved in our school. It's open to all students and training sessions are held at lunchtime and after school.

Volleyball High Performance Program
Holland Park State High's High Performance Program continues to offer students the opportunity to engage in an enriching sports experience.

 


  • Book Buddies
